On its followup to 1991's psychedelic-rock-dance album Screamadelica, this Glasgow band, Primal Scream, goes honky-tonk. With the Mick Jagger-esque vocals of ''Big Jet Plane,'' ''(I'm Gonna) Cry Myself Blind,'' and ''Call on Me,'' and the lyrics of ''Rocks,'' Give Out But Don't Give Up is reminiscent of such Stones classics as Let It Bleed and Sticky Fingers. Adding to the '70s nostalgia is the presence of funkman George Clinton on one track. B+
