Why Another Stakeout? Not because (to paraphrase Bobcat Goldthwait) the 1987 original left so many questions unanswered. Richard Dreyfuss and Emilio Estevez continue to have a certain comic chemistry, but face it: The main attraction of the first Stakeout is an incredibly sexy turn by Madeleine Stowe. In Another, she has been reduced to a cameo, and with Rosie O'Donnell as the female lead, this is obviously a sequel with a considerably reduced level of eroticism. The rest is standard buddy-cop jive, with an implausible plot about missing witnesses and crooked Feds, and the usual facelessly efficient direction by John Badham. C+
