An honorable addition to the distinguished horror series, Return of the Living Dead 3 adds a dash of romance to the grisly mix. A troubled Army brat (J. Trevor Edmond) accidentally kills his biker-chick girlfriend (Mindy Clarke) in a motorcycle spill, so of course he steals some Trioxin 245 from his military-scientist dad (Kent McCord, looking remarkably unchanged from his Adam-12 days) and brings her back to life. Like the other loopy Living Deads, it's chock-full of brain-munching zombies, campy dialogue, and gross anatomical effects-but it's that touch of amore that makes this one so special. B+
