There's a high-tech stalker on the loose, inhabiting electrical circuits and phone lines and terrorizing a single mom (Karen Allen) by turning everyday appliances (a bathroom hand dryer, a microwave oven, a dishwasher) into implements of death. Though Ghost in the Machine features some pretty cool computer-generated effects, this techno-thriller requires more leaps of logic than you can shake a fiber-optic cable at. C-
