1985 (1994)

Details Lead Performance: Enuff Znuff; Genre: Rock

If these sound-effect-doctored 1985 tapes — aptly titled 1985 — are any indication, the Chicago power-pop combo Enuff Z'Nuff started out as a shrewd hybrid of Elvis Costello's vocal mannerisms and Cheap Trick's guitar hooks. Still, whether they're tearing wigs off hairspray metal or lusting over Catholic schoolgirls, they make being a boy sound like good clean fun. B+
