Lead Performance: Stevie Nicks

In what was really the only option for reviving a career adrift in space-cadet flightiness, Stevie Nicks has returned to earth with Street Angel. Snapping out lyrics with clear-headed firmness, she bellows expressively and sets her high, grainy voice in opposition to plenty of deep, rumbling guitars, the way she did in her Fleetwood Mac days. Except for a truly dreadful cover of Dylan's "Just Like a Woman" (with Bob himself wheezing along insensibly on harmonica), this is a solid pop-rock collection. B
