Humble Pie were beergut-busting '70s British boogiers led by shrimpy Steve Marriott; their squeal-pitched, riff-and-rhythm-happy sound was the missing link between Janis Joplin and AC/ DC. Interminable live versions wreck a classic cut or two on Hot 'N' Nasty: The Anthology, a two-disc compilation, and most of the blues is a snooze. But passionate silliness like ''Street Rat'' and the jailhouse rocker ''30 Days in the Hole'' are more fun than any new grunge you've heard lately. B
