Stripped down to just a well-tuned, crisply manipulated piano with no electronics, Chick Corea gives a rare showcase of his solo skills on Expressions. As jazz interpreters go, Corea draws more on flamenco than on the blues and favors gymnastic flourishes over raw, exploratory gray zones. But his signature touch and technical aplomb are, as always, something to admire. B+
