Heralding August 1994's world championship of basketball in Toronto, Dream Team II collects game footage and interviews with the NBA stars of the second Dream Team. More engaging than its highlights of signature moves — Tim Hardaway's cat's-paw crossover, Shawn Kemp's monster dunk — is its mixing of two generations, with the former Detroit Pistons tandem of Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars holding court with a new style of playmaker in Steve Smith and the hot-handed shooting guard Reggie Miller. In its effort to give all 12 players airtime, however — and include each one's obligatory vows for the gold — Dream Team II falls just a little short of doing its vastly talented subjects justice.
