The New York foursome Gumball uses smudgy Sonic Youth-style guitars on Revolution on Ice to make bubblegum grunge sugary enough for the Archies. Led by modern-rock producer Don Fleming, the group features smart, pop-culture-obsessed lyrics, but Fleming's boyish vocals and engaging riffs make Gumball a sweet distraction. B
