Second Coming

The band adds a bonus track from a local street musician to their latest album

Wait 45 seconds after the last cut on the Stone Temple Pilots' Purple album, and you'll hear a secret, unbilled tune by disabled, eccentric Seattle street musician Richard Peterson called ''Second Album.'' The song, also the title of Peterson's 1985 release, was played over the loudspeakers during last year's Stone Temple Pilots tour, and the band thought it would be ''kinda neat'' to end their own second album with it, says Steve West, the Seattle radio maven who introduced Peterson's music to the group. According to West, Peterson will no longer need to stand out in the rain: He received a lump sum, plus royalties, for his contribution.
