The newly buff but still slack-jawed Patrick Dempsey portrays the title character in Bank Robber, a holdup man said to be of the ''romantic gentleman'' variety, who, on the lam after muffing a job, turns the corner of Lonely Street and checks into Heartbreak Hotel. No, I'm not making this up. The kind of movie that gives quirkiness a bad name, Bank Robber shoots for Absurdist, Existential Black Comedy but ends up hitting Failed Exploitation Picture and that only by dint of them, copious sex scenes between Dempsey and Lisa Bonet (as a fortune-telling hooker).
