Plugged In (1994)

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Lead Performance: Dave Edmunds

Dave Edmunds is a musical encyclopedia, meaning he usually provides a ton of info without much originality. But Plugged In is a gleeful history lesson, whether he's covering ZZ Top and Otis Redding, concocting sonic homages to the Beach Boys and Chuck Berry, or caressing an NRBQ ballad. Edmunds has appointed himself keeper of the vintage rock & roll flame, and while he may not stray far from his roots, you can't fault him for guarding his post with such diligence. B+
