During the summer doldrums, a few shows (such as The John Larroquette Show and Picket Fences) have vacationed in foreign time slots, airing a second episode in the same week. On July 11 The Nanny visited the Monday-night lineup but found itself in similar ratings territory: The extra episode ranked 43rd, improving little on its regular Wednesday showing (47th). Baseball's All-Star Game hit a home run, coming in third and actually delivering an exciting battle. But ABC's first regular-season game batted a feeble 65th.
