Lead Performance: Love Spit Love

You might think that Richard Butler's dissolution of the Psychedelic Furs, followed by a three-year recording hiatus and the formation of a new band — especially one with a name like Love Spit Love — would indicate his determination to move beyond his airy (or just inflated?), melancholic, quasi-Goth yarns, crowed in a slightly despairing Cockney rasp. Sorry. The good news is, if you liked him then, you'll probably like him now. B-
