Jim Carrey's ''Cuban Pete'' isn't demented enough to be amusing, and songs by Vanessa Williams, K7, and Xscape fail to create a mood. Who wants to hear wet noodle Harry Connick Jr. after the funk of Tony Toni Tone? Wait for the singles. C-
