Judybats Full Empty (Sire/Warner Bros.) On their fourth album, Full Empty, the Judybats, college-rock faves from Knoxville, Tenn., toy with guitar pop, shuffling dirges, even a Bee Gees cover (''Jive Talkin'''). But they sound most at home on their more folky, harmony-laden, mid-tempo ballads. Unfortunately, that's also when they're most irksomely wide-eyed and precious. Imagine the Gin Blossoms butting heads with Crash Test Dummies — which, scarily, is probably somebody's idea of a good time. B-
