Cheyenne Warrior

In Cheyenne Warrior, a young widow (Preston) stranded at a frontier outpost nurses an injured Native American (Pato Hoffman) back to health, and the two fall in love — slowly, coyly, unconvincingly. Drawing its imagery from Dances With Wolves and its sentiments from Harlequin romances, this politically correct Western features a lead actress who lapses into Southern California-speak and a lead actor who looks like a young Ben Kingsley but doesn't act nearly as well. They're both so lightweight, it's a wonder they don't blow away in the prairie wind. C-
