AIRHEADS (PG-13) A trio of heavy-metal rockers (Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, and Adam Sandler) sneak into an L.A. radio station brandishing plastic Uzis and force the deejay (Joe Mantegna) to play their single. But the tape player eats the demo, leaving the three stranded like Al Pacino in Dog Day Afternoon. What might have been an amusing 15-minute sequence in a Wayne's World movie degenerates into a witless muddle. D ( 236, Aug. 19) -OG
