This summer's version of Free Willy is the true story of a girl (Tina Majorino) and her seal. Andre is a charmer, and the movie works when it stays in shallow waters, following his raspberry-blowing, TV-watching antics. When it tries to get too deep-using melodramatic rescue scenes to preach about friendship and love-Andre flounders. Still, the training scenes during the closing credits are a tribute to the star's talents and a joy to watch.
