A lush stunner of an albumTorme's most fully realized in years. It's near- perfect in almost every way: voice, repertoire, arrangements, and instrumentation (Randy Sandke and Ken Peplowski make major contributions, soloing on trumpet and sax). Minor flaws? Occasional ponderousness, and overly close miking that exaggerates Torme's tendency to sputter. A
