''I'm in the middle of reading Stop the Insanity, by Susan Powter, whose weight-loss strategy I could sorely use after a 17-city publicity tour. With book signings, interviews, TV, and radio, there's never any time to be choosy about meals. While I was on the road, I read How We Die, by Sherwin Nuland, which I loved. I also just finished the Daphne Du Maurier biography, and I'm looking forward to a scintillating tome on fingerprint mechanics now that I'm home and L is under way.''
