Fast-food waitress, Playmate of the Year, octogenarianophile. Anna Nicole Smith has played as many roles in real life as a seasoned thespian. The bosomy blond's screen debut in Naked Gun 331 3 may mark the beginning of a whole new career. But as what isn't clear. Here's how she handled a roundtable interview at a video convention in Las Vegas. Q:You come off quite well in Naked Gun 331 3. Have you ever studied acting? A:I took two classes. That was it. It was with someone named Julia-some coach.
Q:What did you like best about making the film? A:Oh, me and Leslie played around so much. Me and him were probably the funnest in the whole movie. Leslie was always using his fart cushion. He has this fart cushion, and he farts, and then he walks away. I was dying. I mean, I was just on the floor.
Q:What movies do you like to watch on video? A:I watched Naked Gun 331 3 last night-twice. And I have all of Marilyn Monroe's old movies. She's my first all-time idol. I really love Don't Bother to Knock, where she plays a psycho. That's one of my favorites, because it was a different role. I would love to do a role like that, because I could be psycho-in a movie. I would love to remake that movie or any one of Marilyn's movies.
Q:Tell us a bit about your husband and your new life as a wife. A:Well, he's an older gentleman. He's 89. I love him. He loves me. He asked me to marry him so many times, and I just wanted to establish myself first. I didn't want somebody to say, ''Aw, she married for money.'' He was very sick. His girlfriend had just died. Right before that, his wife had died. He had no will to live. I saw him, I met him, and it was just like he was my friend. So we started going to dinner and to lunch. And he's helped me a lot. And the age difference-I don't care what people think. I love him, and we're in love, and that's it.
Q: Are you planning to act in another film? A: I'm fixin' to do Venus Rising. It's about this woman that breaks out of prison, and I'm, of course, this bombshell, and I'm her friend and-to tell you the truth, I haven't read it all yet.
Q: Who else is in it? A: I'm not sure. I haven't asked.
Q: Is it another comedy? A: It's, um-I'm not really sure. I read the first 15 pages-about a woman escaping from jail-so, I don't think it's a comedy.
Q: Where do you see yourself in five years? A: Well, I'm either going to be a very good, famous movie star and model, or I'm going to have a bunch of kids. I would miss having a career, but I've done my acting, and I've done my modeling. I've done everything I wanted to do. If no one wants me to be an actress anymore, well, I've made my goals. I've done what I wanted to do. And if I don't work another day, I've done what I wanted to do. *
