Lead Performance: Shirley Horn; Genre: Jazz
--
Who still thinks of Paris as the city of love? By the sensual balladry of this live album, recorded at the Parisian Theatre de Chatelet, it's clear that pianist-vocalist Shirley Horn does. So, evidently, did her concert audience, which seems so rapt that it didn't make a peep during Horn's gently murmuring performance of standards such as ''All Through the Night'' and ''That Old Devil Called Love.'' And so will any listeners Stateside who possess the vaguest joie d'amour.
