Monkey Trouble Thora Birch, Harvey Keitel (1994, New Line, PG, priced for rental) All but hardened animal-rights activists should be tickled by this pleasant family fare, in which a girl (Birch) hides a capuchin monkey from her parents (Mimi Rogers and Quiz Show's Christopher McDonald) and a crooked Gypsy (Keitel). Executive-produced and directed by Ridley Scott, of all people, Monkey balances slapstick with a quietly honest look at modern messed-up families. Keitel, mouth crammed with gold teeth, sweating in confusion as if he's stumbled off a Tarantino set, is a marvel to watch. B
