The 1990 Circuitry Man must have made the meager profit necessary to keep video-store shelves greased with annoying sequels, because all Circuitry Man II does is recycle the first tale of bizarre characters and murderous android Plugheads. The meandering plot still makes a good excuse for video sex symbols Deborah Shelton and Traci Lords to play against type as an FBI agent and a bioengineer, and Jim Metzler proves he's still one of the more interesting genre guys around with his return as a compulsively suicidal and romantic ''synthetic.''
