The Boys Choir of Harlem offers loose, joyous harmonies on its first album of contemporary material. But the ensemble straddles so many musical moods — from trendy R&B to exuberant Afro-pop, dance, and even classical — that Hope is, ultimately, an uneven sermon. B-
