Last summer saw the release of two kiddie baseball comedies. Angels in the Outfield was the hit. Little Big League struck out. This is the one about a 12-year-old (Edwards) who inherits the moribund Minnesota Twins and appoints himself manager. Suddenly, those surly underachievers are playing like slaphappy winners. Using way too many musically highlighted montages, the movie tritely builds to the point where ... the Twins don't win the pennant! Talk about an anticlimax. If you really want to feel good about a bunch of baseball also-rans, re-rent Michael Ritchie's The Bad News Bears. C-
