Album Review: 'The Decline and Fall of Heavenly' (1994)

This British band's upbeat, poppy music recalls '80s ska and new wave but adds spice with two harmonizing female vocalists sweetly delivering dry, sarcastic lyrics about things like trying to get a lover to leave so you can wake up alone. Last year's P.U.N.K. Girl was more outwardly feminist and biting. Still, this collection of eight songs is a joy to hear. B
