BEVERLY HILLS COP III Eddie Murphy, Judge Reinhold (1994, Paramount, R, priced for rental) Reteaming Eddie Murphy with director John Landis seemed like a good idea, since the two were responsible for a couple of Murphy's biggest non-BHC hits-1983's Trading Places and 1988's Coming to America. Yet this latest Axel Foley adventure has just one good idea: the staging of a climactic gun battle at an amusement park. To be fair, casting B-movie stalwart John Saxon as a villain was a pleasingly retro move, but bringing back the justifiably underemployed Bronson Pinchot to reprise his role as the obnoxious Serge from the original was a revealingly desperate one.
