Pianist Chick Corea later called this 1981 acoustic quartet Joe Henderson on tenor, Gary Peacock on bass, and Roy Haynes on drums his dream band, but nothing's been released until now with Live in Montreux. That's a pity, because this music was subtler and more challenging than much of what he recorded with others. And his ''Quintet #2'' emerges as a memorable addition to his sizable catalog of compositions. B+
