Live in Montreux (1994)

Pianist Chick Corea later called this 1981 acoustic quartet — Joe Henderson on tenor, Gary Peacock on bass, and Roy Haynes on drums — his dream band, but nothing's been released until now with Live in Montreux. That's a pity, because this music was subtler and more challenging than much of what he recorded with others. And his ''Quintet #2'' emerges as a memorable addition to his sizable catalog of compositions. B+
