Longtime James Brown collaborator, bandleader, and songwriter Bobby Byrd offers galvanizing horn-peppered grooves that resemble vintage Brown funk on On the Move. His ravaged, straining voice occasionally drowns out the melodies, but that isn't a terrible liability once his funk juggernaut gets rolling. B
