Lead Performance: Graham Parker
--
''Soul Christmas,'' a duet with Nona Hendryx, is the most overtly R&B and also the most anemic cut on this oddball six-song offering (three new Xmas tunes and their demos) from Graham Parker. Elsewhere, the British veteran soulster's lyrics are as literate as ever, his voice an appealingly craggy instrument. The demos are the best part of Graham Parker's Christmas Cracker: low-fi snapshots that exude raw emotion and underproduced charm. B+
