Stolen Moments: Red Hot and Cool

EW's GRADE
A

Details Movie Rated: Unrated; Genres: Documentary, Musical; With: Various Artists

Beautifully shot and lit by director of photography Kevin Kerslake (who helmed some of Nirvana's best videos), Stolen Moments: Red Hot and Cool captures the sounds of hip-hop and jazz — and, in its edgy, shadowy images, the mood as well. Anchored by a no-nonsense message about race and life in the age of AIDS — through interviews with the likes of Harvard professor Cornel West — Moments features the Pharcyde, MC Solaar, Digable Planets, and others. With proceeds slated for AIDS research, this is entertainment for the heart, the soul, and the mind. A
