'PULP' FRICTION

In your Dec. 2 Oscar Watch, you sound like a flack for Miramax. (1) Pulp Fiction didn't resurrect John Travolta's career. That's a long way off. (2) Quentin Tarantino is an egomaniac, not a household name. (3) And $48 million ain't that much money.

I enjoy your magazine, and found interesting the article "Pure Pulp for Now People." Food for thought (courtesy of my father): Did you notice that the bathroom plays a rather large part in the film? Vincent is in a bathroom when Mia overdoses and he's coming out of one when he's killed by Butch; he's also in the bathroom when Pumpkin and Honey Bunny hold up the restaurant; and Jules finds God after one of the "quarry" comes out of the bathroom shooting (and missing).

HAILING CAB

I'm so glad Cab Calloway's death wasn't brushed out of the news by the coverage of O.J. Calloway was the greatest entertainer to ever live.
