Internet Review

Metacritic Film

The Web's best film review site is edited by a lawyer who lives in a tiny one-movie-screen town. But that doesn't matter, because metacritic.com editor Julie Roberts doesn't actually have to see the pictures to rank them. Instead, she crunches reviews by 35 major publications to arrive at a 1-through-100 ''Metascore'' for each film. Do the numbers lie? We don't think so. Uberstinkers Vulgar and Divorce: The Musical, each with one point, flunk out as 2002's most- hated movies, while a majority hailed Minority Report (80) as the season's finest. (metacritic.com/film)
