Passionate Kisses

Mary-Chapin Carpenter's vocal delivery tends to bland the anger out of songwriter Lucinda Williams' declaration of personal and romantic rights, and the video for Passionate Kisses destroys the remaining intensity. One scene shows a gal throwing her guy — and his suitcase — out of the house. But otherwise, the most passionate moment comes between a toddler and a consenting Labrador retriever. B-
