In a what-if scenario that makes Red Dawn look tepid, protoyuppies Liv Ullmann and Max Von Sydow find the war they've been trying to ignore come crashing through the walls. Militarily detailed without specifying what the fighting's about, Shame is a brutally clear-eyed look at the war games inherent in a marriage. It's one of Ingmar Bergman's least known, most accessible, and greatest movies. A+
