Brandon Lee seems like a nice enough kid, but he's not much of an actor, and all the creative editing in the world won't make him into the fighter his father, Bruce Lee, was. Still, Rapid Fire boasts slicker production values, niftier explosions, and better acting support than your standard footfest; Boothe is particularly droll as a cop protecting mob-hit witness Lee. If you can handle the kickboxing-movie equivalent of, for example, a Julian Lennon single, then this is a passable rental mess-around. C-
