Former hippie-era golden boy Law (Barbarella, The Love Machine) shows more than a little tarnish as a real estate developer in trouble with both a loan shark and a buxom, psychotic houseguest in this strange, atrociously acted potboiler. While Angel Eyes plays like some parodist's idea of a bad soap opera, it's actually sort of compelling because writer-director-cinematographer Gary Graver (an Orson Welles protégé!) seems so dead serious.
