Details Lead Performance: Sunscreem

The novelty of this U.K. dance act is that it plays live — never mind that it borrows Yaz's Euro-synth-pop punch, KLF's fluid rave rhythms, and Altern8's 140-bpm disco-techno blend. All this with purring, wannabe-Alison Moyet vocals. The result? Generic techno wallpaper with few good hooks to groove and grind to except for the bassy ''B,'' ''Love U More,'' and ''Release Me.'' If you need protection against original music, lay Sunscreem's O3 on thick. C+
