Invaders from Mars

Is little David (Jimmy Hunt) dreaming, or are big green spacemen burrowing mind-control crystals into people's brains? Full of laughably bad dialogue and props (including inflated condoms to simulate bubbly radiation damage to a cavern wall), this Cold War artifact nevertheless conveys the lingering unease of a child's nightmare. Several excised or altered scenes follow Invaders From Mars's ending, as does a still-frame gallery of production photos and publicity fliers, and even though Image's disc-only edition was assembled from badly battered prints, most of it is still sharper than the cassette version is.
