Wim Wenders (Wings of Desire) contemplates identity, fashion, and the digital age by focusing on designer Yohji Yamamoto, whose clothes are more inspired than his musings on their creation are. The arty doodles and fragments that fill Notebook on Cities and Clothes are meant to amount to a philosophical meditation, but basically they're a snooze. C
