Beautifully photographed tree-hugging. Director Bill Couturie has made an environmentalist documentary designed to illustrate how humans, their greed, and their pollution have destroyed huge sections of this country. Borrowing from his own Dear America: Letters Home From Vietnam and Ken Burns' Civil War, Couturie has famous actors, from Gene Hackman to Alec Baldwin, read letters, diaries, etc., from historical figures testifying to the beauty of America. This is sincere but boring, a warning that comes off as condescending. C
