On Full-Custom Gospel Sounds, The Reverend Heat (a.k.a. Dallas' Jim Heath) displays sweaty, sexy guitar chops, ample punch lines, and a band that kicks rhythm tighter than necessary for a novelty act. But unlike the genuinely nutty and troubling Flat Duo Jets, or the garage-crazed Cheater Slicks, the novelty never wears off. B-
