GUTTERBALL Gutterball (Mute) Imagine yourself barreling down Highway 61, taking a journey through the past. That's the classic-rock route that has been mapped out by this alternative supergroup (involving ex-members of such bands as Dream Syndicate, House of Freaks, the Silos, and the Long Ryders). Even so, this album's mixture of Bob Dylan and Neil Young is tossed off with a pleasing lightness. Yesterday's profundities have become today's parties. B+ -Jim Farber
