Imagine yourself barreling down Highway 61, taking a journey through the past. That's the classic-rock route that has been mapped out by this alternative supergroup (involving ex-members of such bands as Dream Syndicate, House of Freaks, the Silos, and the Long Ryders). Even so, Gutterball mixture of Bob Dylan and Neil Young is tossed off with a pleasing lightness. Yesterday's profundities have become today's parties. B+
