Music Capsule Review
Give a Monkey a Brain and He'll Swear He's the Center of the Universe (1993)
Credits
B+
Much of Fishbone's charm comes from an ability to jump musical genres without losing the groove. Not to say that the septet does everything equally well: Fishbone should go easier on the nondescript power chords (''Servitude'') in favor of the noisy ska-funk (''Properties of Propaganda''), and serve up more attitude (''Drunk Skitzo''). But even if you can't swallow the whole Brain, you'll be intrigued.
