Always You (1993)

EW's GRADE
C

Details Lead Performance: James Ingram; Genre: R&B

After the new-jack pop of 1989's It's Real, James Ingram comes back soft and sappy on Always You. He can't pump life into love songs with no soul, and the best cuts — ''This Is the Night,'' ''You Never Know What You Got,'' and ''Sing for the Children'' — barely hint at the vocal power he possesses.
