1 Thursday The Broadcast Tapes of Dr. Peter (HBO, 8-9 p.m.) A Vancouver doctor documents his struggle with AIDS via a video diary that first aired on Canadian television in 1990.

2 Friday The Mary Tyler Moore Show (Nick at Nite, 10-11 p.m.) Ted (Ted Knight) and Georgette (Georgia Engel) cohost a happy-talk show; WJM cancels The Happy Homemaker, and Sue Ann (Betty White) cohosts a kiddie puppet show.

3 Saturday The Killer with 100 Daggers (Discovery, 8-9 p.m.) Cinematographer Werner Fend examines the dilemma of Sri Lankan Buddhist monks who are attacked by crocodiles but cannot retaliate due to their pacifist beliefs. Bummer!

4 Sunday A Capitol Fourth 1993 (PBS, check local listings) Mary-Chapin Carpenter, the Singing Sergeants of the U.S. Air Force, Rita Moreno, and Johnny and June / Carter Cash are among the performers scheduled for this Independence Day concert, live from Washington, D.C.

5 Monday Movie: 12:01 (Fox, 8-10 p.m.) Weekend at Bernie's' Jonathan Silverman, City Slickers' Helen Slater, and Mission: Impossible's Martin Landau are trapped in a sci-fi variation on Groundhog Day: A man keeps reliving the same 24 hours.
