FAMILY PRAYERS Joe Mantegna, Anne Archer (1993, Columbia TriStar, PG, $89.95) Andrew (Tzvi Ratner-Stauber) is a confused adolescent coping with his first love, his upcoming bar mitzvah, and the compulsive gambling of his flat-broke dad (Joe Mantegna). To make growing up seem even more daunting, this story is set in 1969, at the angry height of Vietnam War protests. But for all the potential conflict here, very little happens. Ratner-Stauber's glum performance is typical of this slow, dull family drama. C -Michael Sauter
